The Chavruta Detective: Sold at Sotheby’s workshop is a new interactive learning program that introduces Balei Batim to Yeshiva-style Chavrusa learning. The entertaining and informative lesson is appropriate for learners on all levels, even those with no prior Torah-learning experience. The fast paced 1-hour lesson investigates an intriguing legal case from 1984 about valuable manuscripts confiscated by the Nazi’s.
The program includes Live Polling technology accessed with the students’ smartphone.
The case is introduced to the students with a documentary-style video, and the class is polled for their initial opinion. They then learn the related Halachic sources with their Chavrutot followed by a moderated discussion to discover the timeless brilliance of Torah’s legal system.
